Singapore Allocates 300 Hectares on Jurong Island for Green Energy and Data Center Park
Singapore's Jurong Island is undergoing a significant transformation, with 300 hectares—10% of its total area—dedicated to clean energy projects and green technologies. The initiative, announced during the Singapore International Energy Week, will focus on hydrogen and ammonia-powered facilities, alongside carbon capture systems.
A 20-hectare low-carbon data center park, capable of supporting 700 megawatts of power capacity, will anchor the development. Minister Tan See Leng highlighted growing interest from specialty chemical firms, signaling regional demand for higher-quality products. Jurong Island is poised to become a global test bed for innovative energy solutions.
